Hi all! A quick list to start the year off right and organized. So much to share about holidays, updates, and new years resolutions for 2013! Lets see what my goal is for this week…

Upload xmas Pickle photos to facebook for family
Logo and upload Shetera’s maternity shoot to photography fan page
Finish editing Shetera’s baby shower photos
Mail disc of both shoots to Shetera
Mail purchased clothes to @farmermissy
Mail purchased Etsy remnants to customer
Get Pickle another (read:better) haircut
Vacuum
Organize & export last year’s Pickle photos (this is a HUGE task)
Burn a photo disc for my mom and mail w/late gift (oops)
Work on art swap piece… try to finish!
Make eye apt for new glasses
Cut squares for next quilt
Add content to Piece O Lease facebook page
Touch base w/Tracey & schedule Kelan’s 3 mo session
Take down xmas decor
Put up winter/Valentines day decor
Read
That’s good. As usual, I don’t expect to get all of this done, but I will still try! Check in later this week to see my progress!
Last night was the annual Simpsons “Treehouse of Horror” party. We had a great time, of course! And Levi stayed awake the whole time to take it all in. He seemed to really enjoy himself too
I’m writing this post because this year it was at the Santa Monica Pier. They always do a good job of having more things to do than you have time for. But they had a section of fortune tellers. I’m uncommitted to any particular feelings about psychics except that I am always curious, so when the opportunity arises I get a reading (it being free really sealed the deal). I try to listen to my own intuition to see if I feel a connection to what the psychic is saying before I decide how much stock to put into it. Anyway, I wanted to share (and kinda document) what she said to me. I told her about what was mostly on my mind lately which is career and family. I have been struggling with being a working mom, the volatility of the animation industry, my skill level vs everyone else, job security, whether I should be pursuing photography more as a backup career, or crafts, my desire to do some work abroad, or maybe be a SAHM or WAHM (stay at home mom or work at home mom). Here is what she said to me:
She doesn’t see me leaving animation anytime soon. She doesn’t see the Simpsons letting me go or me leaving, unless I decide to. But the path I am on now, is another approx 2 years here. She said there will be a second child in about 2 years. A girl she thinks (but that’s a 50/50 chance there anyway ). After the 2-ish years, she saw me “springboarding” into another company still in animation. She said in about 5 years working for a company that allows some traveling abroad for work. She said this is where I’m meant to be (in animation). She said the other things I’m trying to make into careers will just be enjoyment so don’t stress about them. Do them as much or as little as I want, but they wont become a new career. She said she sees that I like to over-give at times at work. But in general, she said my energy is all worry but that I need to relax and stay the steady course. She said our souls make agreements before we are born and my soul said I agreed to be a working mama. Interesting. She knew Levi and I are close. She knew the daycare was so close by. She said his soul (which communicates the way we all do even though he is a baby) told her that he likes that I work but am close by. He feels it. He’s happy as long as I am close by and always come home (which made her chuckle). She said that his soul wants me to “accept him as he is”. I’m not sure what that means. She asked me about his health. She said something will come up in winter/spring but not serious. Along the lines of what we have been dealing with. She said he will out grow his struggles within 1-2 years but that he wont be superman or anything. Maybe she was trying to say he will be average.
I left her feeling good, interested in our future, and a little off the hook with my extra curricular activities

Last week I was out of town and had a small mental chore list. This week its right back to the grind with some challenging ones… and probably more than 20.

Hold Overs… though I dont have much hope for them this week:
Last week may have been worse than the week before! This week is the first of my 2 weeks off from work. Sunday I’m flying to visit my Dad and stepmom Kathy. We found out recently that she has Thyroid cancer and I’m gonna visit her before the surgery, since I wont be able to come out for it. That will be the week I return to work. Anyway, I decided to divide my list into “MUST THIS WEEK”… and “WOULD BE NICE”. Wish me luck!
MUST:
Fold Pickle laundry
Put Pickle laundry away
Vacuum
FINISH NEW PHOTOGRAPHY SITE on THURSDAY!
Cancel attending Brayden’s bday
Reschedule with potential bride client (I was supposed to meet with her on Sunday but Ill be flying)
Pack Pickle’s bag
Pack my bag
Get or borrow one of those car seat caddy’s or gate check bag
Go to the post office!
Sew backing of quilt together
Layer and basting pin the quilt together
Quilt. (I may need to go down to Sew Modern to get some help)
File for unemployment
Call Daycare and put Pickle on vacation week for next week
Pack crafts to work on in Vegas
Strip the next 2 loads of cloth diapers
WOULD BE NICE:
Get my hair cut
